Village Square Rates

The following charges can be invoiced to either an email address or snail mail address that you provide. Payment is due upon receipt. 

Individual & Family Homepages

Please note these charges do not include the design of any website pages. You must deliver all information electronically (we cannot key it in). All information must be saved as generic ASCII text -- graphics must be in a .BMP, .GIF or .JPG format -- and delivered on a PC-formatted diskette (no Mac disks, please). 

We will convert your text to HTML format for viewing in a basic Web page. If you'd like to design your own HTML page, (and there are many HTML editors that make this relatively easy,) you may deliver the finished HTML to us and we will post your page as you've designed it, assuming there are no bugs that we cannot clean up. 

Rates for Non-Commercial Webpage Hosting 

  • Initial site installation and hosting - $10/year 
  • Conversion of text to HTML (if needed) - $5/webpage 
  • Scanning of printed pictures/graphics (optional) - $25/scan 
  • Conversion of electronic graphics files to .GIF format (if needed) - $1/graphic 
  • Updates/changes to materials - $5/webpage

Commercial Website Hosting

Village Square is not intended to be a free advertising service. We welcome sponsors in the support of our service, and if material you submit to us is deemed to be more than just information of general interest, (and our decision here is final,) we are obligated to charge a nominal fee for posting it. If you already have a commercial website hosted elsewhere however, we will be happy to provide a free link to it from one or more appropriate pages in Village Square if you advise us of your site's URL and content. 

Rates for Commercial Website Hosting 

  • Initial site installation and hosting - $75/year 
  • Webpage design (optional) - $45/hour 
  • Information data entry (if needed) - $30/hour 
  • Conversion of text to HTML (if needed) - $15/webpage 
  • Scanning of printed pictures/graphics (optional) - $30/scan 
  • Conversion of electronic graphics files to .GIF format (if needed) - $5/graphics file 
  • Updates/changes to materials - $15/webpage 
The above rates should enable a small local business (that provides us information as electronic text) to establish a simple web presence on Village Square for as little as $75/year. Examples of this might be a restaurant wanting to feature its menu, or a bank posting its services and fees. This information would then be readily accessible for reference by local Village Square visitors. 

Please note: Information that changes regularly will require more rapid updating than we can promise at the above rates. In these cases, please contact us at one of our feedback addresses regarding fees for developing a regular commercial website for your business that will give you the ability to update information at your own convenience.
